Quarantine Zones

Following the catastrophic pathogen outbreaks of 2042, automated militarized containment systems established Quarantine Zones, most notably along country borders cordoning off large regions. Some countries, like Switzerland, took it a step further by sub-sectioning the regions into smaller, more manageable zones.

Managed by persistent drone overwatch and fortified by EMP-hardened bunkers, when activated, these zones are theoretically off-limits; in practice, they function as convenient dead-drops and havens for those who require total anonymity.
